A top-level overview meeting that covers goals, scope, timeline, budget, and any other important aspects that all stakeholders need to agree on before starting.

Technical and Creative Ideation

​

Innovation, manufacturing, and compliance realities converge in the product development roadmap. This stage is quite different for each project. Ranging from very simple to very complex, we brainstorm with the client to find solutions that are innovative yet predictable throughout the development and manufacturing process.

Product Development

​

We design, engineer, and iterate hardware, electronics, and software to create a proof of concept prototype that will leave no doubt among stakeholders that the product has met the goals agreed upon in the project kick-off and will WOW the customers.

Final Engineering Release to Production

​

This is a critical milestone. The engineering package must be flawless. All stakeholders must be assured that the documents are perfect so that molds can be cut, firmware can be burned, and packaging can be printed without mishap. BLD specializes in this process; the founder chaired production release meetings for over 15 years.

Manufacturing

​

Vendors are chosen, quality controls, audit schedules, work instructions, and other planning are implemented. BLD's founder and partners offer onsite oversight.

Testing and Certification

UL, EU, ROHS, and IES are just a few of the many compliances BLD is expert at complying with. By knowing what is required from the beginning of the project, a smooth transition and time-saving testing plan can be realized.

Logistics and Shipping

​

Should delivery be FOB, D2D, DAP by air, ship, horse :), or another method? These decisions greatly affect who is responsible at each step of the way and when payments are made. Knowing what size and how many units are packed in what kind of box is also important as it can greatly affect product design and price.
