Type 5 Street Light, Areamax, Evluma

Evluma is an outdoor street light manufacturer that required a completely new LED lamp for the outdoor utility market.  Brad Larsen’s role was to design the housing, access panel, back reflector, optical mirror assembly system, “figure 8” gasket, LED thermal conduction system, and fastening systems for all the parts in the product. The parts were designed to be assembled with as few fasteners and assembly steps as possible.  All manufacturing CAD packages for these parts were also completed. He also travelled to China twice in 2012 and India twice in 2014 in order to set up supply lines and ensure quality control.  Brad also designed the testing equipment required for IES compliance.  This included a scanning goniometer and a total light integration sphere.
